Biography

Jane de Jonge is an assemblage artist whose imaginative constrctions reflect both her background in philosophy and and her skills in product design. Her work has earned her acceptance in regional competitions and museum exhibitions, and inclusion in private and corporate collections. She has twice won first prize in Connecticut annual competitions.

De Jonge holds a BA from Mount Holyoke College and a master's degree from Columbia University. Her work is part of the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University and has been shown at the Mira Mar Gallery in Sarasota, the Brownson Gallery at Manhattanville College in Purchase, and in numerous Connecticut museums. Her work has been reviewed in the New York Times, The Stamford Advocate, and other publications, and she has received several awards.

She is an artist member of the National Association of Women Artists in New York and of Silvermine Guild of Artists in New Canaan, Connecticut; and Art/Place in Southport, Connecticut. She has had three one-person shows at Silvermine and four at Art/Place.
